The compLexity Gaming family would like to wish a very Happy Birthday to Henry “Hendralisk” Zheng as he turns 20 today!

Henry “Hendralisk” Zheng is a University of Toronto student who started his StarCraft 2 career in May 2011. The Canadian Zerg started off as a casual player and hoped to improve his skill through the in-game ladder. He steadily perfected his game and was picked up by Monomaniacs e-Sports. He has made some offline tournament appearances such as representing his country at the 2012 WCG Grand Finals and made his first North American offline appearance at MLG Raleigh 2012. So far in 2013, he started off by winning LAN ETS 2013. Zheng hopes to push himself even further to become one of the top Canadian StarCraft 2 players.

In just a few hours compLexity’s qxc will be playing in the Fragbite Masters tournament. This online tournament, which starts out with two group stages before progressing into an 8 player single elimination bracket, features some of the best StarCraft II players on the planet. qxc’s first group stage, which is scheduled to start at 3:45 PM EST includes HyuN, RunA and SaSe. 

In order to participate in the Fragbite Masters, players were either invited or had to make it through one of four qualifiers. qxc earned his way into this tournament by winning his bracket in the Fragbite Masters Qualifier #4 where he took out players like Lucky, MiNiMaTh, and uzer. 

While this is an online tournament, the prize pool makes it look like a major LAN event. In total $24,700 is up for grabs, with first place taking home $12,300.

Tonight compLexity StarCraft II’s TheStC will be playing in the WCS Season 2 America: Premier League round of 32. The WCS is a major tournament featuring some of the best players from around the world going head to head for a cut of the $100,000 prize pool.

Format

• Group Stage #1 (Round of 32): Dual Tournament format.

• Best-of-three.
• The 4 players of each group are split into two pairs and play each other.
• The winners of these matches will then face each other in the Winner’s match.

• The victor places first in the group and advances to the Round of 16.

• The losers of the initial matches face each other in the Loser’s match.

• The loser places fourth in the group, will fall to the Challenger League Round of 40.

• The loser of the Winner’s match and the winner of the Loser’s match will face each other in a fifth match.

• The winner gets second place in the group and advances to the Round of 16.
• The loser places third in the group and will fall to the Challenger League Round of 40.

• Group Stage #2 (Round of 16): Dual Tournament format.

• Best-of-three.
• The 4 players of each group in Round of 16 will face off similar to Round of 32.
• Players who place 3rd and 4th in their group will fall to the Challenger League Round of 16.

• Quarterfinals: Single-elimination playoffs.
  • All 8 players who make it to this round are seeded in next season’s Premier League.

• Quarter- & Semifinals: Best-of-five.
• Finals: Best-of-seven.
