COMPLEXITY GAMING INTRODUCES ITS FIRST-EVER DIGITAL COLLECTIBLES FOR FANS

May 4th, 2022

Commemorating Complexity’s Founding Year, 2003 Digital Tokens to be Minted for Free through a Partnership with ARterra Labs, the Organization’s Official Digital Collectibles Partner

FRISCO, Texas – May 4, 2022 – Complexity Gaming, a GameSquare Esports company and one of North America’s longest-standing esports organizations, today announced its first-ever digital collectible drop in collaboration with ARterra Labs, a digital collectibles platform hyper-focused on the esports and gaming market. Available beginning today, Complexity’s Genesis drop will feature 2003 free-to-mint digital tokens designed to commemorate the organization’s founding year, as Complexity expands into the Web3 market.

“As one of the first esports teams in North America, Complexity’s 2003 digital collectibles are a nod to our deep roots in the space,” said Jason Lake, CEO, Complexity Gaming; Global Head of Esports, GameSquare Esports; and ARterra Labs advisor. “Complexity wouldn’t be where it is today without our fans’ unwavering support. That’s why we’re partnering with ARterra Labs to offer this free digital collection as a token of our appreciation – it’s a chance for our fans to own a piece of Complexity’s history and engage deeper with our players and creators.”

Issued through ARterra Lab’s carbon-neutral platform, Complexity’s digital collection will be available for fans to claim on a first-come, first-serve basis at no cost. Complexity and ARterra Labs will work closely with token holders to identify and build meaningful fan engagement opportunities that these digital collectibles will unlock at the intersection of Web3 and gaming.

“Complexity’s rich history in competitive gaming makes them the perfect partner to launch our platform with and to carry out such a culturally symbolic drop for its fanbase,” said Bridge Craven, CEO, ARterra Labs. “We see digital collectibles as a way for the gaming community to show their fandom in this new digital era, and we hope Complexity’s fans will be excited by the opportunity of grabbing one of Complexity’s 2003 digital tokens.”

The drop will be facilitated through Complexity’s partnership with ARterra Labs, which designated ARterra Labs as the Official Digital Collectibles Partner of Complexity earlier this year. Together, Complexity and ARterra Labs will strive to create utility-driven digital products for fans and creators, build engagement strategies that ensure authenticity, and offer educational content for the gaming community at-large. ARterra Labs will additionally receive logo placement on Complexity’s official team jerseys.

“GX3 uniquely embodies our organization’s core values, and we’re thrilled to welcome them into the Complexity family,” said Jason Lake, Founder & CEO, Complexity Gaming, and Global Head of Esports, GameSquare. “The squad’s competitive credentials coupled with their growing platform for female empowerment have the potential to shake up the gaming world in a major way.”

The addition of Complexity GX3 marks the organization’s first-ever all-women roster and second VALORANT team. Hailing from a variety of competitive backgrounds in Counter-Strike, Apex Legends, and Fortnite, team members include:

  • Alimonstr: A long-time Counter-Strike professional and six-time Esports World Cup Champion, Alimonstr formed GX3 in 2002 and established the team’s presence in VALORANT for her venture into the game.
  • Aniemal: In addition to competing for GX3, Aniemal is currently a VALORANT streamer and content creator for Complexity.
  • maddiesuun: Previously a part of the first all-female Fornite team, Gen.G’s Team Bumble, maddiesuun has extensive experience competing professionally and mentoring young gamers.
  • akaL4CE: An up-and-coming VALORANT professional, akaL4CE’s raw talent has shown immense competitive potential that’s earned her the position of GX3’s recon.
  • One additional team member to be announced.

“We strive to leave a lasting legacy on the esports world both competitively and culturally,” said Alimonstr. “Signing with a reputable and supportive organization like Complexity will not only equip us with tools to enhance our performance but also a platform to kick start important industry conversations about instilling change.”

GX3’s Alimonstr and maddiesuun have been staunch supporters of inclusivity and their impact has already been felt in the space. Throughout her nearly two decades in the industry, Alimonstr has inspired countless young women to pursue professional careers in esports and gaming. Meanwhile, her teammate maddiesuun helped to evolve the gaming scene for women during her time with Gen.G’s Team Bumble. With the support of Complexity, the all-female team will build upon this foundation to create a more accepting and supportive community. Through forthcoming initiatives, Complexity GX3 will take actionable steps to eliminate toxicity as well as partner with charitable organizations and female-forward brands to break down barriers and empower female gamers.

COMPLEXITY GAMING KICKS OFF YEAR-LONG PARTNERSHIP WITH EYE CARE COMPANY ALCON

August 19th, 2021

Partnership will Educate Gaming Community on Common Dry Eye Symptoms and Introduce Over-the-Counter Options like the #1 Doctor-Recommended Brand, Systane

FRISCO, Texas – August 19, 2021 – Complexity Gaming, one of North America’s most elite and longest-standing esports organizations, today announced a partnership with Alcon, the global leader in eye care. The partnership will designate Alcon’s signature brand of lubricant eye drops, Systane®, as the first-ever Official Eye Care Partner of Complexity Gaming.

Now more than ever, dry eye symptoms are affecting people due to increased time in front of screens.¹ Alcon’s family of dry eye relief products can be used to temporarily relieve burning and irritation2 due to dryness of the eye that may be exacerbated by prolonged screen time.3 For esports athletes, gamers, and others living with dry eye symptoms, Systane products can help relieve dry eye symptoms such as burning and irritated eyes.3

“Proper eye care is an essential part of our ongoing commitment to improve the holistic health and wellness of esports athletes,” said Jason Lake, Founder and CEO of Complexity Gaming. “Partnering with Alcon will help to educate our players, content creators, and the community at-large on the importance of ocular health.”

Kicking off this month, the partnership aims to raise awareness of the impact of extended digital device usage on the eyes. Since professional esports athletes and content creators can spend many hours per day training and streaming, they are particularly predisposed to eye fatigue, which can cause burning, stinging, and more.1,2 While in the heat of competition, healthy and refreshed eyes can mean the difference between winning and losing.

“Alcon is excited to partner with Complexity through this first-of-its kind partnership that we hope will help players understand vision changes they might be having because of dry eye and help them find real relief,” said Jeff Huffman, Senior Director, Dry Eye and Ocular Health Marketing at Alcon. “Through this partnership, we are thrilled to introduce a new audience to our family of products which includes the newly launched Systane Hydration Multi-Dose Preservative Free lubricant eye drops at a time when they most need relief from dry eye symptoms and can keep their eyes on the prize.”

By partnering with Alcon, Complexity is building upon its ongoing commitment to professionalize player care in the esports industry. Complexity provides holistic support and resources for players’ mental and physical well-being through the GameStop Performance Center (GSPC), which is equipped with performance-enhancing tools, recovery amenities, and ample mental health resources.

Systane products can be found at all major U.S. pharmacies and online retailers. Systane is the #1 doctor- recommended brand of artificial tears. 4  Learn more at Systane.com
