Every time I’m asked for a new article I always do the following – I look around the room at different objects. Following that, I put my music on random and listen to a few songs for the first few seconds. After that I get a shower. Why, I hear you ask? Simply put; I have a routine that I follow every single time I am asked to do an article. I can’t quite put my finger on why I do those things but that’s not really important. What is important, however, is that I do those things every single time. I usually get my best ideas when showering. It must be something to do with the relaxing, hot water and I should probably leave it at that before you sick, sick people want me to describe it in further detail. You sicken me *glare* (but email me if you’re really interested). The main problem with writing an article about gaming is that there’s so much that’s unique and the world of gaming as it is relatively new in the spectrum of mankind etc, with the problem being that there’s very little to write about something so new.
My dilemna is this – I have written about everything from the benefits and misunderstandings of gaming all the way through to comparing online communities to sitcoms. Now, I now for a fact that after this is done and I’m asked to do another one in the next few days I will undoubtedly come up with some WHACKY concept for an article but please believe me when I say that I don’t write articles like the ones I do because “Gosh darn it, he’s just so nuts”, rather I do it because I honestly pull ideas out of my…*cough* most of the time. I’ll see someone brushing their hair and will instantly think to myself “Gaming vanity!” and then thank the Gods of Kobol that I never followed through with the idea. I actually thought of this ironic article whilst in the shower today and though “Hmmm, I could stretch this into a full article” but at this point I’m leaping from one random sentence to another.
I think at this point I should probably announce that I might be doing my articles in vlog form. Nothing like Swoozie’s though. I’ll be coming up with a subject like any other article and then trying to introduce it as a video blog. It’s easier that way and should my first couple of them go okay, I might do a few more. Writing in this form is easy in the sense that I’m only typing words onto a screen using a keyboard but (one moment *fingers snap off*) it does tend to make you lose your eyesight when you’re looking at a screen for quite some time. Sure, I could look away but then I’d be distracted. This means that I have to look at the words I’m typing non-stop for a good hour or so. It can get repetitive and writers block is a bitch. Like, did you know that for the last 20 minutes I’ve just rambled on? Seriously – go back and look at the entire article again. Whilst you do that I’m gonna go get a glass of water. Oh, you’re not going anywhere? What do you mean you already know that I was rambling on? I’m offended. Good day sir.
