In a move that had been rumored for some time, SK Gaming have removed two players from their CS 1.6 roster; making their depature are Marcus “zet” Sundström and recent pickup Jim “zneel” Andersson.

Andreas “bds” Thorstensson, Managing Director of SK-gaming.com, commented on SK’s website regarding the events that have transpired.

It is time for SK to say good bye to zet and zneel. Marcus joined us in the autumn of 2008 and quickly was part of the success in winning the ESL Global Challenge in LA and following that up with a second place at WCG in Cologne and in the same year winning Dreamhack Winter. He was the fuel the team needed back then. Missing the flights to gamescom was a huge disappointment and it started to question Marcus’ dedication to his team and the game. With a very ill performed IOL 4 we have decided to finally part ways.

zneel joined the team in a very difficult time and it was very hard for him to make his mark. It is really sad that he did not get the time to show what he is capable of, but I am sure we will see more of him in the future, no matter what team he will be playing for.

We wish them both the best of luck in the future!

For Sundström, it marks a storied end to his tenure with SK, after returning from his participation in the CGS with compLexity; he never really seemed to return to the level and style of play that fans were accustomed to, and now is on his way out.

And for Andersson, it was unfortunately a ride that was a bit too short. It was noted that the reason for his depature was not based on the merit of his play, but that he “did not fit correctly with the team.”

It is unclear at this point in time where either player will end up.

This leaves SK with the following roster:
