Recentely, the Association of Gaming Professionals, also known as AGP has announced their launch. The AGP plans to unite players with the goal of expanding esports by providing players with the ability to sustain the sport themselves. AGP also plans to sponsor tournaments and create rankings.

The AGP is the next step in establishing Quake Live and first person shooters as a true professional sport.” said Jarod Reisin, President of VIDA. “The potential of a united players association is bigger than anything we have seen before in professional gaming. It’s proving that progress is happening and that a self sustaining sport is right here in front of us, going nowhere but up.
