Beginning today, compLexity heads around the globe as both coL.Dota and coL.Gwent are travelling. First, Jan “superjj” Janßen boards his flight to Warsaw, Poland for Gwent Open #2. The event will see 8 of the best Gwent players in the world compete for their share of a $25,000 prize pool on the 18th and 19th of November.

Format

  • Best of 5, Single Elimination
  • Ahead of the tournament, each participant must build 4 decks from 4 different factions.
  • No two decks can be of the same faction.
  • Opponents will be able to ban, in secret, a chosen enemy deck at the beginning of each game.
  • Once the players have each banned an enemy deck, they will choose 1 out of their 3 remaining decks to use for their first match.
  • Winning decks can’t be used to play another match, while losing ones may be used again or swapped out for another.
  • Decks cannot be modified between matches.

 

coL.Dota, on the other hand, will be making the long trip to Shanghai, China for the Perfect World Minor, where 10 teams will compete for their share of $300,000 in prizes from November 19th to the 26th. 

Format

Group Stage

  • Ten teams are seeded into two groups, five teams each
  • Round-robin format; all matches are played in a Bo2
  • Top four teams advance to the playoffs
  • Bottom teams are eliminated

Playoffs

  • Double-elimination bracket
  • First round of the lower bracket is played in a Bo1
  • All other rounds are played in a Bo3, with Bo5 Grand Finals
