cp_yukon_final
Blight came out the gate on cp_yukon_final and grabbed a quick first round. A strong compLexity squad was not phased and responded with their own fast round win to make it 1-1. In the 3rd round coL ran into some trouble with very strong play by Blight, but they were able to group and make a strong final hold to take a 2-1 lead. In the 4th round coL made a few mistakes, but it would not effect them at all. Blight was unable to take advantage and coL made the score 3-1.
The start of the 2nd half saw blight domiante the start of the round, but compLexity did it yet again and regrouped and won the round putting the score at 4-1 and gamepoint! Blight would not give up and faught hard in the final round, but once again compLexity game out on top winning the map 5-1.
cp_granary
Blight was a brand new team at the start of cp_granary. They did everything right and compLexity had no answer as blight jumped out to a 4-1 lead. The guys were able to regroup and get their 2nd round, but Blight finished it off winning the next round and taking the map 5-2.
cp_badlands
This is the first time this tournament compLexity was sent to a 3rd map. Right away compLexity wanted to show everyone they were in it to win it, quickly jumping out to a 2-0 lead. Blight just would not back down getting a round, but coL answered with their own. 3-1 Score at half. It was all Blight in the second half, matching the score coL put up of 3-1. It came down to overtime were blight needed to win to force another bo3 series. The overtime round didn’t take long for compLexity to win it and be crowned ESEA CHAMPIONS!
The Finals is going to be a rematch of the Upper Bracket Finals. coL.TF2 vs Blight.TF2.
Blight was knocked to the lower bracket by complexity by a score of 2-0. Once again Blight would have to pull the upset on EG.TF2 and they were able to do it again, winning 2-1.
For compLexity it was no easy road to the finals. The opening match against Pandemic looked to be in favor of Pandemic when they jumped out to a 3-1 lead at half on koth_viaduct, but the guys were able to wake up and win three straight to take the map and the series.
The Grand Finals is set to get underway at 11:30AM EST. The winner will walk away with $1,500!
