compLexity are the 2014 Call of Duty World Champions!

BY Andrew Miesner / March 31, 2014

After 3 long days in Los Angeles, California, the Call of Duty Championships presented by Xbox has come to an end, with our very own #coLofDuty coming out the victors! With the win, they will be taking home $400,000 and the Call of Duty Championship Rings, as well as the official title of the best Call of Duty team in the world.

Going into Day 3, coL remained undefeated overall, only dropping two maps the entire event. In the Winners Bracket Finals they took on rivals Optic Gaming in what proved to be an intense gridlock of back and forth action. The match went to a game six where compLexity proved why they are the best team in the world, sweeping the map 6-0 and advancing to the Grand Finals.

The Grand Finals began and ended in what seemed to be a blur, with compLexity quickly taking all 3 maps in the best of 5 series against EnvyUs, who had previously been on a 12-map run through the lower bracket. After the match, both teams shared a moment of congratulations before compLexity was joined by coach Matt “MrX” Morello and Founder & CEO Jason “1” Lake for a celebratory group embrace.

The full list of finalists for the 2014 Call of Duty Championship is as follows:

  • 1st: compLexity – $400,000
