HOUSTON, TEXAS – July 05, 2013 – Today compLexity Gaming is pleased to announce another addition to our Fighting Game roster: Long “ShadyK” Tran. Long will operate as the Media Manager for our fighting game division.
ShadyK is often considered San Diego’s best fighting game player and an innovator of abusive strategies early on in a game’s life span. He’s known for pioneering many of the top techniques and strategies for Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 and Marvel Vs. Capcom 3. His current role as an FGTV member as Filipino Champ would put it, is the “sensei”, acting as a collaborative coach and training partner. His accomplishments include top 8 in Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 at Evo2k3 and a top 5 finish in Street Fighter 4 at Evo2k9.
Hello and welcome to compLexity! What are some of your goals going forward?
Thanks! My goal going forward is pretty simple; to follow, grow, and learn more about Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3. The game is still young and expanding as far as strategies and knowledge goes and I just need to be on top of things. As a Media Manager and player for compLexity, it’ll be my responsibility to stay on top of my game, sharing what I know with the team, all while creating quality media content for the public.
The tournament you’re going to next is EVO 2013. Do you have any specific goals for this event?
The only thing I want to do at EVO 2013 is to do my best. Wherever that takes me, that’s my goal. I don’t have a specific goal of a placing or anything like that. I just want to be able to apply my fundamentals, knowledge, and skills of the game the best I can and hope it’s enough! I’ll also be commentating some of the matches, so that’ll be really exciting since I’ve never commentated a huge tournament like EVO before.
How do you feel about joining compLexity?
What can I say? It’s awesome. I finally get to travel to tournaments with my roomie, Filipino Champ, which will make our gameplay a bit stronger at the actual event. We’ll be able to coach each other and help each other strategize for particular matchups. compLexity has treated Ryan extremely well since I’ve known him and I’m just happy to be able to join the family that supports him!
Any shoutouts you’d like to give?
Shoutouts to compLexity and all of its sponsors, of course! And a special shoutouts to my FGTVLive viewers who have stayed with us the past two years and have supported me especially! Love you guys and we owe a lot of FGTV’s success to you all!
Join us in welcoming Long here!
