ESL America Season 1 Announced

Recently, ESL has had a huge precense in the esports scene as a major event organizer. To further their bubble of influence, they have announced the first season of ESL America. The first season will house two divisions: CS1.6 Open and CS1.6 Main. The first season won’t have cash prizes as ESL will be feeling out the American scene and test the league’s popularity, but will have subscriptions to ESL Premium instead. Below are the details on each division of the league.

Open Division

The season-based open division is a free, competitive league that offers one match per week to test your teams ability. Teams will be split into a “West” and “East” conference to limit ping imbalance. Make sure to enter your region on your team’s profile.

Countries: United States Canada
Maps: dust2, inferno, train, nuke, tuscan
Scoring: MR15 play to win
Overtime: MR5 with 10,000
Sides: knife for sides
Anticheat: Aequitas required for each match

Main Division

The season-based main division is a free, competitive league that offers two matches per week against good competition. Teams can be placed into the main division based on relegation results, previous ESL cup placements, or by opening a support ticket titled “TeamName – Main Application” with why you believe you should be placed in main.
