Today marks the start of MLG’s newest online tournament, the MLG vs Proleague Invitational. Running from 9/27 to 10/29, this 48 player online tournament will see the top 24 KeSPA players facing off against the best 24 players MLG has to offer (twelve from North America, six from Europe, and six from Korea and Taiwan). MLG is offering a $10,000 prize pool plus the top 8 will be placed into group play in the MLG Fall Championship.
This is obviously a huge tournament featuring the best players on the planet. We at compLexity are pleased to announce that two of our players have been invited to play: Kevin “qxc” Riley and Gage “Sasquatch” DuBose. In fact, qxc is scheduled to play the legendary Brood War player Flash.
Right now the broadcast schedule is little hazy. MLG has three matches listed for each of the schedules broadcasts, but also states “1-2 Additional Featured Matches will be announced day of broadcast.” There’s also an online poll for each of the broadcast dates where viewers can vote on which matches they’d like to see. For the full broadcast schedule including dates, match-ups, and polls, click here. It’s very important that you check out the polls because qxc vs. Flash is one of the games up for broadcast is the viewers want it.
To watch the games, purchase a $9.99 ticket here. Commentary will be provided by Nick “Axslav” Ranish and Alex “Axeltoss” Rodriguez from MLG’s NYC studio headquarters. The broadcast start at 7:00 PM EST.
