No More Arbalet Cups?

BY Andrew Miesner / November 19, 2010

In a statement released early today by Alex, one of Arbalet’s closest advisors, we should not expect to see any more Arbalet Cups in the near future.

In the statement, it states that the initial purpose of the Arbalet Cup was for Murat “Arbalet” Zhumashevich to provide support to teams from the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States). It was to show that those teams could compete with the best teams from around the world, on the most grand of stages. With Na`Vi becoming what many believe to be the world’s best Counter-Strike 1.6 team, that goal has succeeded, with the team winning the Intel Extreme Masters, ESWC Championship and the WCG Championship, along with numerous Arbalet Cups. According to the statement, Na`Vi will continue to be supported through the end of 2011.

In the future, if Valve releases another version of Counter-Strike, it is expected that Arbalet will return to host another event. The original statement, translated into English from Russian can be found by clicking here.
