Postgame

The match versus Excello has been rescheduled at Excello’s request.

In the first match of the night, both teams battled not only their opponent, but tons of confusion as many played de_lite_rc2 for the first time this season. In the first half, coL was able to grab the pistol round as they started on CT side. Ruins, however, was able to give coL a run for their money as they traded round for round, eventually bringing the half to a 9-6 score. In the second half, Ruins was able to take the pistol round, however the taste of victory was short-lived as they were taken down in the second round of the half on a forced buy by coL. The second half proved to be as back and forth as the first, however. Ruins was able to gain several rounds to win the half and force the overtime. In the first half of overtime, it was all Ruins as they made quick work of coL.  In the second half of overtime, Ninespot was able to save coL to bring it to another round, but Ruins proved to be too much as they took the second round and the game by a score of 21-16.

Pre-Game

Update: Also tonight, coL.cs will be taking on Excello for ESEA Week 7:2. The two teams will square off on de_dust2. Excello is coming into the match with a 5-3 record, just under coL who is sporting a surprising 6-2 record. This match can prove who be huge, as a loss by coL will shake up the standings, sending the powerhouse down to the middle of the pack, while a win by Excello could be a huge upset, as they would move towards the top of the standings. The match is scheduled to begin at 11:30PM EST.

coL.cs finds themselves stepping back into the online realm to continue their ESEA-I season, with a make-up match with Ruins.

Hovering around the bottom-middle of the pack, Ruins (4-6), has had what most would call a typical season so far, losing to who most would expect them to. They will have to have an improbably strong finish to climb their way into a playoff position, but it’s certainly not impossible.

coL.cs (6-2) has had a decent season so far to say the least. Suffering blow-out losses to both EG and Excello so far this season, coL.cs has either been on, or completely off. Coming home from a disappointing WCG USA exit, coL.cs will surely be motivated to start their online season back on the right foot and finish strong going into the playoffs.

Tonight’s map will be de_lite_rc2, the ESEA-created map for competitive play that has had mixed reviews so far. The match is set to start at 9PM EST.
