Tonight’s episode of The V saw some absolutely fantastic macro play from both Attero and Spades. While we didn’t see a lot of variation in terms of strategy, we did see some great mechanics and decision making resulting in a series that went all the way to game 7. Despite his best efforts to stick around for another week, Spades ended up falling to new comer Attero.
Things started off pretty grim for Spades. Attero took the first two games on Crossfire and Tal’Darim Alter without too much trouble. Spades managed to fight back taking the next three games thanks to his heavy Marauder, Medivac, Viking, Ghost army. It wasn’t until the last two games that Attero figured out his opponent’s plan and devised a way to weather the storm; force his opponent to multitask. With some nice late game Dark Templar, Attero distracted Spades allowing him to easily pick him apart.
Huge congratulations to Attero on becoming this week’s champion of The V. Be sure to tune in next weekend to see if he’ll be able to hold onto his crown for another week.
