The organizers of WCG Sweden have released the first few details about the qualifier for the Grand Finals. The event will have only eight slots for participants where four teams will be directly invited, while the four other slots will be awarded via a pre-qualifier.
The format of the event has changed since last year and looks to be more intense. This year the event will be a single elimination best-of-three format instead of dividing the eight teams into two groups with the top two advancing to a single elimination bracket.
The event will be taking place a a few weeks after the eStars event in Korea where fnatic will be featured to see if they can keep their flawless performance going. SK Gaming will also be in attendance to this event. It could be a good preview to see which Swedish powerhouse could be going into the qualifier with the advantage.
The Swedish Qualifier will be held from August 13th-15th and the winner will have their travel expenses paid for to China, where the second place finisher will have to fund their own travel. Stay tuned to compLexityGaming.com for more updates closer to the qualifier!
