Capcom shipped out 4 million copies of Resident Evil 5 to the masses for last week’s release. Capcom is said to have sold 400,000 copies of Resident Evil 5 in its first week in Japan, while the game’s demo has been downloaded four million times.
In a statement released by Capcom, the survival horror series has sold 40 million copies since it launched in 1996. A Capcom spokesperson praised the companies engine for allowing multi-format releases.
