Last night saw the finals of GOMtv’s GSL where coL.MVP DongRaeGu faced off against his friend and teammate coL.MVP Genius. In a thrilling series that went to game six of a best of seven, DRG managed to defeat Genius.
This was one of the most storied GSL finals with Genius and DRG being teammates as well as meeting earlier in the group stages. In that set Genius managed to best DRG, teasing him with some friendly post-game ceremonies. After Genius’s first showing, which looked pretty one sided, many were saying that he couldn’t be stopped. Somehow DRG managed to keep his cool and come through in the clutch versus Genius in the finals.
We at compLexity would like to congratulate both players. The GSL is by far the most prestigious StarCraft II event and both players should be proud to have made it to the finals.
