Happy Birthday Zfreek!

May 14th, 2017

The Syndicate would like to wish a very Happy Birthday to Zakari “Zfreek” Freedman as he turns 23 today!

Perhaps one of the best players in HoN history, ZfreeK has made a career in the shadows of other big names. As a jungle player and support his actions would be expected to remain in the background, yet Zfreek’s skills showed off a new potential in his positions. With stellar play on multiple teams and in multiple roles ZfreeK has earned himself a spot in the elite player group. His consistency and dedication to learning a game inside and out are what make him a force on the field, while his sarcastic nature and quick wit are what make him a fan favorite.

Once again, we’d like to wish a very Happy Birthday to Zakari “Zfreek” Freedman!

compLexity Overwatch Announcement

May 9th, 2017

Today we are taking a step back from Overwatch to evaluate the game’s developing competitive landscape. As of late Monday, Jake ‘TorkTJO’ Lepoff, Nicolas ‘NicolasTJO’ Aubin, Joe ‘Joemeister’ Gramano, and Mihail ‘Meza’ Păunescu are released to free agency. At his request, Jackson ‘Shake’ Kaplan is in the early stages of being transferred to a new organization and will remain part of compLexity until the process is finalized.

Overwatch esports has a promising future, but the current transitional phase has left organizations with limited exposure opportunities. We have the full intention of returning to competitive Overwatch, but at this time we need to assess the best way in which to tackle the fluid ecosystem.

“Anticipation of Blizzard’s upcoming Overwatch League and an uptick in mainstream esports attention means that now more than ever, we have to be confident we’re making the best investments in each game. The decision to part ways with long-term members of our organization is never one that we take lightly, but ongoing roster instability has resulted in inconsistent performances in an already narrow field of events.

When we begin to support and develop a team, our goal is to be in it for the long haul. Unfortunately there are the rare situations in which we need to separate from our emotional attachment, and resolve ourselves to a shift in direction. Though we didn’t find the results we were looking for, we thank the team for their hard work, dedication, and determination in the face of an increasingly competitive North American scene.

To best assist the team and provide what sense of stability that we can, the group currently in our team house will be given the option to continue using our facilities for the next two months as they pursue new opportunities.

It has been a pleasure working with Jake, Nic, Joe, Jack, Mihail, Gannon, and Tiffany. We know they are only going to get stronger, and we hope our paths cross again in the Overwatch League.”

– Kyle Bautista, General Manager

We wish the members of coL.OW the best of luck in their future endeavors and once again thank them for their hard work and dedication.

Thank you for your continued support of compLexity.
