As a former member of mouseSpaz, TSM and CLG, FNS gathered experiences on the biggest stages CS:GO has to offer, including Majors, ESL Pro League, and ELEAGUE. He adds veteran leadership to the young and hungry coL.cs roster that looks to work there way to the top of the current seasons of ESL Pro League and ECS.

The compLexity Family would like to wish a very Happy 29th Birthday to Andrew “aMies” Miesner!

Andrew has been in the professional gaming community for as long as it has been in existence. Originally, he was a prominent member of the compLexity community, participating in forum chat and events. Eventually, he applied for, and received, a job with compLexity. Andrew performed manual statistic gathering for the Counter-Strike: Source team during CGS, providing for interesting pre-game and post-game reports. He continued to progress through the ranks of the organization, becoming a news writer and coverage expert before becoming the Editor in Chief. Following that position, Andrew became the Head of Staff. Currently, he presides as the Director of Technology & Media for the organization, handling day to day operations of any web properties, software, servers and computers.

Again, a very Happy 29th Birthday to Andrew “aMies” Miesner!

compLexity takes to the skies today as members of both our Call of Duty and Hearthstone squads head to opposite ends of North America. To the north, Jordan “TheJordude” Hong Tai heads to Toronto, Canada for EGLX, Canada’s largest video game expo. There he will compete in HCT Toronto, as $15,000 and Championship Tour points are up for grabs. Up to 256 players will compete in an open Swiss bracket to narrow down to the Top 8. The Top 8 players will advance to a Single Elimination Playoffs bracket.

#coLofDuty, fresh of their own visit to Toronto, will head to Atlanta, Georgia for CWL Atlanta where $250,000 and 25,000 Pro Points are ripe for the taking.

compLexity Call of Duty leaves the warmth of Texas today as they head to frozen Toronto, Canada for the WorldGaming’s Canadian Championship Series! 8 teams will battle it out for $60,000 in prizes at the Scotiabank Theatre.

Beginning today, coL.Dota makes the trip from Katowice, Poland where they spent the last week and a half, directly to Bucharest, Romania for The Bucharest Major! The Bucharest Major will be PGL’s fourth Major and their second tournament of Valve’s Dota Pro Circuit. The event will be held in March 2018 at the Polyvalent Hall in Bucharest, Romania, where 16 teams will compete for their chance at the $1,000,000 USD prize pool and 1500 DPC points. coL.Dota was directly invited to this event.

Format

  • 16 teams: 10 invites and 6 regional qualifier winners
  • Group stage: 16 team Swiss Format, 8 teams proceed to playoffs. All matches played in Bo1
  • Playoffs: Single elimination Bo3, with Bo5 finals.

Sovann “Skim” Kim began his esports journey as a writer in the Dota 2 scene. He quickly began to expand his repertoire and became a jack of all trades in regards to content creation. Between live interviews, podcasts and game commentary, Skim has experimented with all forms of media. This experience and flexibility made him a great fit for our creative team.

Zack Marchand   
Content Manager

Zack “Thamadzak” Marchand has been working in the world of esports digital marketing content for the past 3 years. Famous for his viral video work with gaming peripherals brands on YouTube and Facebook video content, he has turned from the traditional agency marketing and has pursued his passion for esports with compLexity.

Paul Eagle   
Senior Videographer and Editor

Paul ‘Dawnshot’ Eagle has been a gamer since getting his first SNES. In high school, he began making videos with his friends and neighbors which he turned into a career path. Graduating in 2011 with a Comm. Media degree from NC State University, Paul found himself working in college sports media. In 2016, after sending a “cold” email (and a prayer) to compLexity – he was able to combine two of his passions, gaming and video production. Now he is a vital asset to the content and creative team!

Patrick Snipes   
Videographer and Editor

Patrick “MarvelMayhem” Snipes originally wanted to pursue a career working solely on film, but he immediately changed his interests when he attended the Overwatch Open while working for one of his clients. After experiencing the event, he immediately started honing his creative skillset. Patrick is working on making a significant mark in the esports industry in hopes to pass down his knowledge as an esports college professor.

Kevin Yoo   
Senior Graphic Designer

Kevin Yoo or “Kev” has been a member of the gaming community for the last 8 years. He started designing for various YouTube content creators and streamers. After exploring the esports scene he started gaining interest in being a part of the industry as a designer. He is now currently the Senior Graphic Designer, responsible for creating all art needed for marketing, social media, merchandise and print production.

coL.Dota wraps up travel today as they arrive in Shanghai, China for StarLadder i-League Invitational Season 4! 8 teams will be competing for $300,000 and 300 Pro Circuit points! coL.Dota qualified for this event by taking down Animal Planet 2-0 in the Grand Finals of the North American qualifier.

Format

Group Stage

  • Eight teams are divided into two groups of four teams each where they play in a double-elimination (GSL) format.
  • All matches are played in a Bo3.
  • The top two teams from each group advance to the playoffs.

Playoffs

  • Four teams play in a single-elimination bracket.
  • Semifinals are played in a Bo3, while the finals are played in a Bo5.
