Complexity’s Future in Valorant

July 22nd, 2022

Dear Fans,

As many of you have heard, recently VALORANT Partnership Program applicants were notified if they would proceed to a further round or if their applications were rejected. Unfortunately, Complexity’s Gaming’s substantive and compelling application was not selected to proceed. We are saddened by this decision as our submission was robust, detailing our history of successes and innovation, as well as our vision for the future of Complexity within the new VALORANT ecosystem.

As a result of this process, we have made the difficult decision to partially exit VALORANT for the time being. While we will discontinue our efforts in the VALORANT Champions Tour via our men’s VALORANT team, we will continue our journey with Complexity.GX3 in VALORANT Game Changers and other competitions. We are grateful to have your ongoing support as we work with Complexity.GX3 to continue breaking down barriers and elevating the underserved women’s gaming community.

We are proud of the work we’ve done in VALORANT over the past two years and we are honored to have received your fandom. Our goal was not to create star-studded teams of known names, but instead to create opportunities for new talent to rise to the top. The process of seeing young talent like Valyn and Jonahp use this infrastructure to springboard to new heights has been deeply rewarding. We are confident that members of our talented current roster and others will utilize that same structure to propel themselves forward in the new VALORANT Partnership Program, even if Complexity will not be a part of it.

Thankfully, this goodbye is not necessarily permanent. This organization still has the utmost respect for VALORANT as a title and we are excited to watch the esports community continue to grow. Our hope is that in the future more opportunities will be opened to showcase the incredible depth of the North American talent pool in the highest level of competition. Until then, we’ll see you in VALORANT Game Changers with Complexity.GX3!

As always, we appreciate your support.

Commemorating Complexity’s Founding Year, 2003 Digital Tokens to be Minted for Free through a Partnership with ARterra Labs, the Organization’s Official Digital Collectibles Partner

FRISCO, Texas – May 4, 2022 – Complexity Gaming, a GameSquare Esports company and one of North America’s longest-standing esports organizations, today announced its first-ever digital collectible drop in collaboration with ARterra Labs, a digital collectibles platform hyper-focused on the esports and gaming market. Available beginning today, Complexity’s Genesis drop will feature 2003 free-to-mint digital tokens designed to commemorate the organization’s founding year, as Complexity expands into the Web3 market.

“As one of the first esports teams in North America, Complexity’s 2003 digital collectibles are a nod to our deep roots in the space,” said Jason Lake, CEO, Complexity Gaming; Global Head of Esports, GameSquare Esports; and ARterra Labs advisor. “Complexity wouldn’t be where it is today without our fans’ unwavering support. That’s why we’re partnering with ARterra Labs to offer this free digital collection as a token of our appreciation – it’s a chance for our fans to own a piece of Complexity’s history and engage deeper with our players and creators.”

Issued through ARterra Lab’s carbon-neutral platform, Complexity’s digital collection will be available for fans to claim on a first-come, first-serve basis at no cost. Complexity and ARterra Labs will work closely with token holders to identify and build meaningful fan engagement opportunities that these digital collectibles will unlock at the intersection of Web3 and gaming.

“Complexity’s rich history in competitive gaming makes them the perfect partner to launch our platform with and to carry out such a culturally symbolic drop for its fanbase,” said Bridge Craven, CEO, ARterra Labs. “We see digital collectibles as a way for the gaming community to show their fandom in this new digital era, and we hope Complexity’s fans will be excited by the opportunity of grabbing one of Complexity’s 2003 digital tokens.”

The drop will be facilitated through Complexity’s partnership with ARterra Labs, which designated ARterra Labs as the Official Digital Collectibles Partner of Complexity earlier this year. Together, Complexity and ARterra Labs will strive to create utility-driven digital products for fans and creators, build engagement strategies that ensure authenticity, and offer educational content for the gaming community at-large. Complexity and Miller Lite will introduce a new initiative designed to support diverse gaming communities. Miller Lite will work closely with Complexity’s diverse roster of talent to create content for of-age gamers and ensure minority voices in gaming are heard, welcomed, and supported in the space. As part of this, Complexity and Miller Lite will host a series of special streams dedicated to Unsung Heroes, including LGBTQ+, LATINX, women, and charitable initiatives. In March, the pair will celebrate Women’s History Month with a special stream featuring Complexity’s content creators to promote female empowerment in gaming and streaming. Fans can catch all streams on Miller Lite’s official Twitch channel.

“Miller Lite is a fan of gaming, and we know our fans are too,” said James Nanney, Sr. Marketing Manager at Miller Lite. “Complexity has been an incredible partner to help us form meaningful connections amongst this audience the same they would over an ice-cold beer.”

The expanded partnership builds upon Complexity and Miller Lite’s existing relationship, which kicked off in 2019. The initial agreement saw Miller Lite designated as the exclusive alcoholic beverage of Complexity Gaming and sponsor of the Miller Lite Player Lounge at Complexity’s headquarters. Complexity and Miller Lite have since partnered to enhance Miller Lite’s branding efforts across social media and tackle multiple livestream initiatives such as Squad Streams and Last Round Streams designed to further integrate Miller Lite with esports audiences.

Thus far, the partnership has seen nine Miller Lite sponsored streams featuring top Complexity talent as well as VIP parties hosted in the Miller Lite Player Lounge. The Miller Lite Player Lounge continues to be used as a space for players and management to unwind during major tournaments and training bootcamps.

About Miller Brewing Company

Miller Brewing Company was founded in 1855 by Frederick J. Miller when he purchased the Plank Road Brewery in Milwaukee, a city he chose as the best place for a brewery given its access to great water. Miller Lite, the original great-tasting light pilsner beer, (MillerLite.com, Facebook.com/MillerLite, @MillerLite on Twitter, YouTube.com/MillerLite) was introduced nationally in 1975 and is among the top-five selling beers in the United States. The brewery’s oldest enduring beer is Miller High Life (MillerHighLife.com, Facebook.com/MillerHighLife, @MillerHighLife on Twitter). Known as the Champagne of Beers, it was introduced in 1903 and still is brewed with the same yeast strain that Miller carried in his pocket from Germany. Miller Genuine Draft (MGD.com, Facebook.com/MillerGenuineDraft, @Miller_Global on Twitter), introduced in 1986, is the original cold-filtered, packaged draft beer. Miller Brewing Company is part of the North America business unit of Molson Coors Beverage Company.
