Stream Team Adds SirPumpkn

October 25th, 2017

Today the Complexity Stream Team is happy to announce another promising and fast-growing member for our Stream Team: Gabriel ‘SirPumpkn’ Winston. Transitioning to CCGs from a collegiate League of Legends player, SirPumpkn has had numerous run-ins with the various card games in the esports community. Ultimately his passion and skill landed him at the upper echelon of the Gwent scene, but before that he gathered experience in multiple other titles such as Hearthstone, Eternal, Faeria, Duelyst and Shadowverse. Locked in on Gwent now, with the occasional Fortnight break here and there, he’s become a fixture on Twitch for the Witcher Card game.

SirPumpkn will join the likes of superjj, Petrify and Merchant in the Complexity Gwent team, although his primary focus will be on streaming the game to his fans. As Complexity continues to bolster its efforts in the fast-growing card game of The Witcher’s universe, we diversify our portfolio to not only offer our fans the best in the game, but also the most entertaining personalities. Gabriel checks off both of those categories, which makes him a perfect fit for the Complexity Familia!

Join us in welcoming Gabriel to the family. You can check out his stream Mondays through Saturdays from 4 PM EST until Midnight on twitch.tv/sirpumpkn and keep up with him on Twitter over at twitter.com/sirpumpkn!

coL.Dota 2017-2018 Roster Announcement

September 6th, 2017

It’s homecoming season and just like in schools across the nation, it is time for a reunion in coL.Dota. We are happy to reunite friends and family by welcoming back two of our former competitors, the Vanguard Brothers, Linus ‘Limmp’ Blomdin and Rasmus ‘Chessie’ Blomdin.

After a year’s absence which saw the two Swedes pursue other competitive goals and focus on health and growth, they are now ready to once more take on the challenge of NA Dota.

Three years ago when we returned to Dota 2 we had four players in mind as our ideal team – Kyle, Zfreek, Chessie, and Limmp. A bit over a year later we assembled that squad for the 2016 season and had our best results yet. Our goals were just out of reach then, but with this reunion we are stronger than ever.

Chessie has spent a year taking care of his health, Kyle has made the move to position 5 to be the best captain he can be, Limmp is recognized as one of the strongest mids in the world, and along the way we met an incredible teammate in Moo who is now back on his beloved offlane. Zfreek still owns too. We spent a year apart, growing and learning individually, and now it is time to bring that experience back together to strengthen the unit.

They were our first choice then and now they’re better than ever. As we begin the next season in a new format and surrounded by familiar faces, I can’t help but be confident. This is our team. This is our time.

– Kyle Bautista, General Manager

Chessie and Limmp were crucial elements of our Dota team’s successful 2016 run, culminating in a respectable 6th place at the Shanghai Major and 4th place at EPICENTER. Now with more majors on the horizon, the team is back to their roots, where it all began as four members of Team stayGreen.

We here at compLexity wish Chessie and Limmp a warm welcome back, as well as the best of luck for the upcoming challenges. You can catch a first look at compLexity Dota 2 in the upcoming BTS King’s Cup and ESL Hamburg Major qualifiers.

A Toast to 3 Years: Kyle & Zak Freedman

August 28th, 2017

Esports is a fast-moving business and Dota 2 is no different. Celebrating a 3-year anniversary between an organization and two players is a rare occasion in today’s climate, so we believe that a toast is in order. Today marks the beginning of Year 4 of Kyle ‘melonzz’ Freedman and Zakari ‘Zfreek’ Freedman, the band of brothers that has not only made an impact on the Dota space, but on our gaming family as well.

What started out as a friendly rivalry from the HoN days, StayGreen and Complexity were adversaries on big stages like HoN Tour and DreamHack. This quickly turned into a wonderful relationship once the duo made the successful switch to Valve’s MOBA hit.

During the transition between games, Complexity exuded almost as much confidence in the two core members as did vocal and outspoken captain melonzz – if it’s even remotely possible to match his confidence. The duo of Complexity and the Freedmans has been through thick and thin in the last three years, including successful journeys to the biggest Dota 2 tournaments including The International 5, the Shanghai Major or Epicenter 2016. Through these highest highs and the accompanying lows, they remained resilient and maintained their belief. Belief in their brotherhood, their ability, the organization and the dynamic that has been established through years of trial and tribulation. It allowed the two to pull through all the hardships, to stay focused even when blessed with success and to look ahead for promising additions during the shuffles. While the overall look of coL.Dota might have changed throughout the years, the core of the roster stayed in the hands of the Freedman brothers. Zfreek still dazzles Twitch chat, opponents and commentators alike on the four or five, while his brother continues to show his versatility as a mid, an offlane and a true five position captain.

A long road is behind us, but an even longer one lies ahead. Thank you Kyle and Zak for three great years. Here’s to many more years to come and the fulfilment of the ultimate dream that was made clear from the very start.

We would like to thank Derek for his hard work and dedication to compLexity and his teammates over the last 7 months. We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.
