COMPLEXITY GAMING INTRODUCES ITS FIRST-EVER DIGITAL COLLECTIBLES FOR FANS

May 4th, 2022

Commemorating Complexity’s Founding Year, 2003 Digital Tokens to be Minted for Free through a Partnership with ARterra Labs, the Organization’s Official Digital Collectibles Partner

FRISCO, Texas – May 4, 2022 – Complexity Gaming, a GameSquare Esports company and one of North America’s longest-standing esports organizations, today announced its first-ever digital collectible drop in collaboration with ARterra Labs, a digital collectibles platform hyper-focused on the esports and gaming market. Available beginning today, Complexity’s Genesis drop will feature 2003 free-to-mint digital tokens designed to commemorate the organization’s founding year, as Complexity expands into the Web3 market.

“As one of the first esports teams in North America, Complexity’s 2003 digital collectibles are a nod to our deep roots in the space,” said Jason Lake, CEO, Complexity Gaming; Global Head of Esports, GameSquare Esports; and ARterra Labs advisor. “Complexity wouldn’t be where it is today without our fans’ unwavering support. That’s why we’re partnering with ARterra Labs to offer this free digital collection as a token of our appreciation – it’s a chance for our fans to own a piece of Complexity’s history and engage deeper with our players and creators.”

Issued through ARterra Lab’s carbon-neutral platform, Complexity’s digital collection will be available for fans to claim on a first-come, first-serve basis at no cost. Complexity and ARterra Labs will work closely with token holders to identify and build meaningful fan engagement opportunities that these digital collectibles will unlock at the intersection of Web3 and gaming.

“Complexity’s rich history in competitive gaming makes them the perfect partner to launch our platform with and to carry out such a culturally symbolic drop for its fanbase,” said Bridge Craven, CEO, ARterra Labs. “We see digital collectibles as a way for the gaming community to show their fandom in this new digital era, and we hope Complexity’s fans will be excited by the opportunity of grabbing one of Complexity’s 2003 digital tokens.”

The drop will be facilitated through Complexity’s partnership with ARterra Labs, which designated ARterra Labs as the Official Digital Collectibles Partner of Complexity earlier this year. Together, Complexity and ARterra Labs will strive to create utility-driven digital products for fans and creators, build engagement strategies that ensure authenticity, and offer educational content for the gaming community at-large. ARterra Labs will additionally receive logo placement on Complexity’s official team jerseys.

The partnership will see a renewed focus on supporting and amplifying minority voices in gaming.

“Our relationship with Miller Lite has continued to grow organically well into year three of this partnership,” said Bee Yancey, Sr. Director of Partnerships at Complexity Gaming. “We’ve had great success with Miller Lite creating engaging content and brand activations and look forward to expanding further into merchandise and developing positive social initiatives for the gaming ecosystem.”

As part of the extended agreement, Complexity and Miller Lite will design a co-branded merchandise capsule paying homage to the two companies long-standing partnership. The collection will include a jersey, hoodie, t-shirt, hat, and more. The limited-edition apparel will be released on Complexity’s new ecommerce shop in the coming weeks.

Complexity and Miller Lite will introduce a new initiative designed to support diverse gaming communities. In March, the pair will celebrate Women’s History Month with a special stream featuring Complexity’s content creators to promote female empowerment in gaming and streaming. Fans can catch all streams on Miller Lite’s official Twitch channel.

“Miller Lite is a fan of gaming, and we know our fans are too,” said James Nanney, Sr. Marketing Manager at Miller Lite. “Complexity has been an incredible partner to help us form meaningful connections amongst this audience the same they would over an ice-cold beer.”

The expanded partnership builds upon Complexity and Miller Lite’s existing relationship, which kicked off in 2019. The initial agreement saw Miller Lite designated as the exclusive alcoholic beverage of Complexity Gaming and sponsor of the Miller Lite Player Lounge at Complexity’s headquarters. Complexity and Miller Lite have since partnered to enhance Miller Lite’s branding efforts across social media and tackle multiple livestream initiatives such as Squad Streams and Last Round Streams designed to further integrate Miller Lite with esports audiences.

Thus far, the partnership has seen nine Miller Lite sponsored streams featuring top Complexity talent as well as VIP parties hosted in the Miller Lite Player Lounge. COMPLEXITY GAMING SIGNS HALO ROSTER AHEAD OF RALEIGH MAJOR

December 16th, 2021

Former Triggers Down Captain Jacob “Hysteria” Reiser Anchors Complexity’s Return to Competitive Halo After a Decade

FRISCO, Texas – December 16, 2021 – Complexity Gaming, a GameSquare esports company and one of North America’s longest-standing esports organizations, today announced the signing of a competitive Halo roster, marking the organization’s highly anticipated return to the Halo esports scene. The roster comprises veteran Halo competitors, including the former Triggers Down captain, and rising stars who will represent Complexity in the Halo Championship Series.

“Halo is a legacy franchise and played a crucial role in esports early development in North America,” said Nick Ridgeway, Assistant General Manager, Complexity Gaming. “Halo Infinite promises a new golden era for Halo esports. Bringing the Complexity brand back to the scene a decade later with this talented roster is a meaningful moment for the entire organization.”

With the launch of Halo Infinite, Complexity will make its return to Halo for the first time since 2011, when they vied for the championship title in Halo: Reach under the Triggers Down banner. Complexity’s new roster includes:

  • Jacob “Hysteria” Reiser: One of the most well-known Halo pros, Hysteria has won five MLG tournaments, was named Stride Championship Series Player of the Year, and, most notably, captained Triggers Down during his Halo tenure.
  • Robert “Rob The Turtle” O’Connor: Rob The Turtle joins the Complexity roster with a ten-year pedigree of competitive Halo, having competed in the title since 2011, predominantly in Halo: Reach and Halo 5.
  • Justin “HuNteR Jjx” Joseph: A notable player and streamer, HuNteR Jjx has been competing in Halo since 2007, including an impressive stint on the MLG Pro Circuit where he reached the 2010 National Championship Free-for-All.
  • James “TritonJB” Bolling: A Halo 5 competitor known for his pinpoint accuracy and slaying ability, TritonJB brings several years of experience to Complexity’s Halo roster.

“The energy and excitement around Halo Infinite is a testament to the franchise’s staying power and the role it has played in the lives of millions of gamers, including myself,” said Jacob “Hysteria” Reiser. “Halo Infinite provides an exciting new chapter in my career and for the franchise at-large. To make my competitive reprise representing a brand like Complexity is a truly unique opportunity.”

Since its multiplayer launch in November, Halo Infinite has restored much of the cultural significance of the franchise when it initially debuted as an Xbox exclusive in 2001. To this day, Halo remains one of the most valuable and recognizable video game franchises in the world, selling more than 81 million copies, according to Microsoft. Competitive Halo’s resurgence marks a tipping point in the industry, enabling Complexity to reach this passionate community and activate its brand among a key portion of the esports audience.

Complexity’s Halo squad joins the organization during a time of competitive growth. Complexity recently signed Call of Duty: Warzone trio, the Baka Bros, former Rocket League Championship Series South America champions, and all-female VALORANT squad GX3. It’s a testament to the Complexity management team’s expertise in scouting organic gaming talent, recruiting players, and providing them the tools, resources, and guidance they need to succeed at the highest level.

Complexity’s Halo roster will debut at the upcoming Halo Championship Series Kickoff Major in Raleigh, North Carolina, on December 17-19. To keep up with the squad, follow Complexity on Twitter.
