Steam Scammers Strike Again

January 26th, 2009

With the never ending battle of phishing, spamming and scamming being fought throughout the eGalaxy, more and more crafty attempts at being made at taking advantage of ignorant users. It was reported that the newest scam revolves around a person recieving an email from a very convincing email [email protected] directing them to what appears to be a steam community page and offering a free copy of Far Cry 2 as a gift. As you may have already guessed, once they log-in to the fraud steam page, the account details are then transfered over to the scammers.

On one hand this a very intelligent design, but in reality something of this nature could be better suited in a positive manner. It really is a shame that people are still stooping low to get something that doesn’t truely belong to them in the first place. Keep on the look out for this eMail and also check out the official Steam community at https://steamcommunity.com for more details on this matter.

SK Gaming Releases ReiGn

January 25th, 2009

After what would seem to be a mediocre year for ReiGn in 2008, SK Gaming has decided to part ways with its Warcraft 3 team member “Seo-Woo ‘ReiGn‘ Kang”. The decision came about after a top three finish at a local event and a 3rd place finish at the AWL Season III with many other events missed altogether.

Team Manager “Min-Sik ‘reis’ Ko” had this to say on the departure of ReiGn: “During his time in the team he was a really hardworking player and I could always count on him…” he added “For me ReiGn is the strongest undead right now alongside TeD and it is just sad that he does not get invited to tournaments because I believe he thoroughly deserves it. Hopefully tournament organisers will realise in the future that a player of his ability is worth an invite.”

coL.Sodah Interviewed by GotFrag

January 22nd, 2009

Shortly after we announced our addition of a World of Warcraft squad, our new star Alex “Sodah” Ringe was interviewed by GotFrag. The interview talks about Sodah’s thoughts of compLexity as an organization, along with the differences in arena since the new expansion arrived. Below is a little snippet of the interview.

What does Complexity offer, in your eyes, to you and your team?
CompLexity offers our team a clear direction in WoW, one which is much more serious and compatible with our goals. We expect to attend many 2009 tournaments, and with the reputation of CompLexity, I’m definitely very confident that we’ll be taken care of.

Do you feel a sense of pressure or responsibility to play well under an organization name as well known as Complexity?
There definitely is a measure of responsibility which comes with joining the big boys. It means playing hard and playing well, and you can expect us to live up to the name.

Street Fighter 4 Delayed in Australia?

January 21st, 2009

A game distribution company in Australia known as RedAnt has been the distributer of games from companies such as Capcom, Midway, Konami, Bethesda and 505 Games. Recently the company went belly up and was placed in the hands of administrators of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission. With this development, it could mean a delay for upcoming titles such as Street Fighter 4 and Resident Evil 5, which are scheduled to be released February 20 and March 13 respectively.

Konami just recently switched to RedAnt back in October after it’s old distributor, Atari Austrailia, partnered with Namco Bandai. The same goes for SF4 developer Capcom, which developed the partnership last year as well.

There is probably too much product being developed for the market, so supply and demand will quickly sort this out. Coupled with the excess inventory of 2008, there will be some good deals for consumers early in 2009. Price pressures will be prevalent, but depending what the AUD (Australian dollar) does in 2009 will determine where pricing ends up. – Julian White, Managing Director
