compLexity 3-9 VS 7-5 Cloud9

Continuing our adventure in the North American LCS, CompLexity League of Legends are up against Cloud 9, who have been in 1st place in the last two splits. This split however, has been chaotic with the introduction of two new teams, in addition to the roster changes. Cloud 9 are currently sitting in 4th place with the record of 7 wins and 5 losses. compLexity Gaming are at 3 wins and 9 losses. One of these three wins were a result of CompLexity Gaming facing Cloud 9 and beating them in an extremely exciting game. The question on everyone’s mind is, can they do it again?

The community has given CompLexity Gaming the label of the “Blue Shell,” since they are able to knock out the top teams including Cloud 9 and Team Dignitas. With Kez in the jungle, we are hoping he can continue to perform as well as he has been since taking over the jungler role. We will have to see, CompLexity Gaming will surely give Cloud 9 a good battle and this will be a great game to watch tomorrow, on Week 6 of the North American LCS.

coL.cs Takes 2nd @ ESEA S16 LAN & Playoffs

June 26th, 2014

by Sören ‘Fantasy’ Vendsahm

After a disappointing couple of weeks for the compLexity Gaming CS squad, sgares and his team get a chance at redemption in Dallas, Texas. The sixteenth season of ESEA’s prestigious league will come to a global conclusion with a total of $47,500 USD on the line.

That along with the honor attached to the global phenomenon are reason enough to turn the situation around for compLexity’s ailing team. Struggling in the CEVO Professional 4 a couple of weeks ago was the last sighting of the squad, who have been going on a hiatus due to the lack of North American competition. Now Dallas is calling and the best eight teams of the individual qualifiers have answered and boarded their planes to the Lone Star State.

The domestic competition might have gone south for the Black-Red organization lately, but the triumphant days against the best teams in the world from Jönköping, Sweden and Katowice, Poland are still fond days to look at. Since then the roster swapped, the atmosphere changed and results have gone up and down; Time for a reset.

For that restart, the matchup couldn’t be more challenging for sgares and his boys. Waiting in the first round is non other than the Swedish powerhouse of NiP, who have been on a tear recently. The acclaimed team with stars like f0rest and GeT_RiGhT comes fresh off their victory at DreamHack Summer 2014 and are motivated to add another title to the already impressive collection.

When asked about the matchup by hltv.org recently, resident Canadian Semphis praised the overall quality of NiP, Na’Vi and Virtus.Pro, but also emphasized the past exchanges. Those have been one-sided in the overall result, but coL was able to challenge the Swedish giants on several occasions. Now they are familiar with the way NiP are playing- intel that might come in handy this weekend. In the same interview Semphis also outlined the struggle of coL a bit, speaking about the difficulty in getting efficient practice. Individual skill will play a big role – something that coL is blessed with, fortunately.

Another interesting and motivating fact for compLexity Gaming, their fans and CS:GO gurus from North America is also home field advantage. Looking at the most recent big events on LAN, the title always stayed in the country. At DreamHack Winter 2013, fnatic kept it in Sweden, Katowice was the big Polish rally behind Virtus.Pro and DreamHack Summer 2014 saw Ninja’s holding the check. Can the United States keep that streak alive with the sleeping giant coL? We will find out over the course of this weekend when compLexity Gaming meets four teams from Europe, alongside three worthy foes from North America.

Happy Birthday RobertxLee and Brian Jackson!

June 24th, 2014

The compLexity Gaming family would like to wish a very Happy Birthday to coL.LoL ADC Robert “RobertxLee” Lee and our Business Development Manager, Brian “GhostOutlaw” Jackson!

Lee started gaming with Donkey Kong Country but a trend was formed when his family introduced him into DotA, which subsequently was folioed by Heroes of Newerth and League of Legends. Getting his first major e-sports spot with Ordinance Gaming he found himself quickly moving over to Absolute Legends NA. His team would later go on to place IEM Season VII Global Challenge Singapore in November of 2012. The victim of a short lived controversy regarding “ghosting” and a few other tid bits, Lee is back for glory with compLexity in 2014 after winning the MLG Spring Championship Promotion 2013.

Brian started his career in gaming in the WarCraft III days, as a competitor with some success. As he began college, he shifted his goals to management, and joined on the Global Gaming League as an Admin for DOTA. Brian moved on to the ThroneIt.com after Global Gaming League closed its doors. As a manager there, he helped grow the community and the features provided. After a hiatus for film school, Brian came back strong taking on the role role of Business Development Manager. Brian is also a Registered Respiratory Therapist at a major trauma center with degrees in Business Administration, Respiratory Therapy and Communications.

Once again, we’d like to wish a very Happy Birthday to Robert “RobertxLee” Lee and Brian “GhostOutlaw” Jackson!

coL.LoL Changes Junglers Due to Visa Complications

June 15th, 2014

It is with heavy hearts that we at compLexity Gaming are announcing a change to our League of Legends roster. Due to unfortunate visa application delays Ram “Brokenshard” Djemal will be replaced by Kevin “Kez” Jeon moving forward. Danan Flander, the General Manager of coL.LoL had this to say:

In the beginning we were anticipating a much quicker visa application process, which estimated Ram would return in about two weeks. Unfortunately we’ve recently encountered complications while initiating the aforementioned application, extending his estimated return date up to four weeks into the future. After accepting the possibility that he might be unable to return until almost Week 9 of the 11 week LCS split, we made the tough decision to award Kez the starting position previously held by Brokenshard. We hope that allocating the remainder of our time this split to Kez and continuing to nurture his growth in the jungle will allow us to overcome the substitute-riddled start we encountered throughout the early stages of this LCS split.

Kez has played four LCS games this split as a substitute on the coL.LoL squad, but will now retain the starting position for the remainder of this LCS Summer Split.

Thanks, as always, for your continued support.
